Hello,
Apologies for the long post - I hope I am just being clueless here, but
I am stumped.
I have set up two libraries using MultiLibrary. The file counts of
these show up in Extras | MultiLibrary and appear to be correct.
I then wanted to use CustomBrowse to add a couple of simple menus which
are restricted to each of these libraries.
When I tried to do this I could see no changes in any of the SC menus.
On the Home | Custom Browse screen I see only:
No matching songs, albums or artists were found
Refresh (MyCustomBrowse 2.6)
I suspected some kind of file permissions issue, so I used the Settings
menu to change the name "Custom Browse" to "MyCustomBrowse", simply to
verify that my changes were having some effect. The new name
MyCustomBrowse now appears in the "Home" menu.
Here is an example of a simple menu that I tried to create just to
replicate the built-in "Artists" menu.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<custombrowse>
<template>
<id>artists.xml</id>
<parameter type="text"
id="menuname"><value>MyArtists</value></parameter>
<parameter type="text" id="menugroup"></parameter>
<parameter type="text"
id="menuorder"><value>50</value></parameter>
<parameter type="text" id="roles"><value>1</value></parameter>
<parameter type="text"
id="variousartists"><value>1</value></parameter>
<parameter type="text" id="variousartisttext"><value>Various
Artists</value></parameter>
<parameter type="text"
id="defaultalbumsort"><value>byyear</value></parameter>
<parameter type="text"
id="playalltracks"><value>1</value></parameter>
<parameter type="text" id="library"><value></value></parameter>
<parameter type="text"
id="activelibrary"><value>0</value></parameter>
<parameter type="text" id="includedclients"></parameter>
<parameter type="text" id="excludedclients"></parameter>
<parameter type="text"
id="includedlibraries"><value></value></parameter>
<parameter type="text"
id="excludedlibraries"><value></value></parameter>
</template>
</custombrowse>
The file Myartists.cb.values.xml is created in
/volume1/Public/Music/playlists but on returning to the Home |
MyCustomBrowse screen the new menu does not appear, I still see:
No matching songs, albums or artists were found
Refresh (MyCustomBrowse 2.6)
In the "Manage menus" settings screen there are still only the options
to
Create new menu Download last version of existing menus
SqueezeCenter is running on a QNAP TS-109 II NAS:
Version: 7.3.1 - 24372 @ Fri Dec 19 17:30:38 PST 2008
Hostname: NAS8BDD91
Server IP Address: 192.168.0.9
Server HTTP Port Number: 9001
Operating system: Linux - EN - iso-8859-1
Platform Architecture: armv5tejl-linux
Perl Version: 5.8.8 - armv5tejl-linux-thread-multi
MySQL Version: 5.0.27
Total Players Recognized: 2 ( 1 Duet and 1 Boom)
I believe I have the latest versions of CustomBrowse (2.6) and
MultiLibrary. I tried to keep the directory structure very simple:
Music Folder: /volume1/Public/Music
Browse Configuration Directory: /volume1/Public/Music/playlists
Browse Templates Directory: /volume1/Public/Music
Context Templates Directory: /volume1/Public/Music
libraryAudioDirUrl: file:///volume1/Public/Music
libraryDir: /volume1/Public/Music
SC appears to run as user "ssods", group "everyone" on this platform
(ssods is the owner of all the files in the SqueezeCenter installation
directory and is also the owner of the perl process that becomes active
when I click "Refresh" after the "No matching songs, albums or artists
were found" message)
The menu xml files are created with permissions -rw-r--r--, but I have
changed the permissions of these (and every other file in the
/volume1/Public/Music tree!) to -rwxrwxrwx but this has not helped.
Have I missed something obvious? I do hope so!
Many thanks for your patience,
Phil
