I made separate directories as suggested, but it had no noticeable
effect. I decided to install Squeezecenter on a Windows XP machine to
get a better idea of what should be happening. Sure enough it
installed very smoothly on there - once I enabled the MultiLibrary and
CustomBrowse plugins and created my simple sub-libraries the SC menus
instantly expanded to include the new libraries.

When I create a new library on the NAS version of SC, on the other
hand, nothing happens to any menu at all. The log file doesn't show
any warnings or errors for MultiLibrary or CustomBrowse. I'm hoping
that there is a fundamental permissions problem that is preventing the
plugins from doing the writing that they need to do, so I will
investigate that further because I'm reluctant to give up on the NAS
installation altogether. Is there anyone else out there who is
successfully running these plugins on a QNAP?

In the meantime, the Windows version is looking great but I am stuck at
the final stage. I now have "His" and "Hers" libraries appearing in the
main menus, with Album, Artist etc submenus. I can create a mix from an
individual album or artist by press-and-hold on the controller. But is
there a way to create a mix chosen from the entire "Hers" library?
(i.e. replicate the function of the standard "Random Mix" menu on a
sub-library). This was really the reason for my interest in
MultiLibrary: my wife likes to just hit "Random Mix" but doesn't want
to listen to all my weird stuff.

Thanks,

Phil
