Well, that's encouraging! It took me a while to make everything happen and I'm still not really sure what did it, but... Check the files again making sure that they haven't unzipped one directory too deep, e.g. Plugins/VlcController2/VlcController2/(files...) I found that deleting the squeezecenter cache file (usually under C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\SqueezeCenter) then rebooting PC sorted things out, although it did of course trigger a full rescan. If you don't want to do that try just deleting the files mentioned in an early post, rebooting and seeing if that works.
