Roughly the same AlienBBC code is used for RealAudio and WMA - however timing is different and it looks like timing and new faster multi core systems is creating a problem.
When the timing problem occurs mplayer is ready to play the stream but it seems SC is not ready or the connection to SC is broken and so mplayer stops just after it starts.
