It's some great Perl software written by Robin Bowes, that allows you
setup your Receiver's network config from any PC, without needing a
Controller. See:

for full details, and the mailing list. With this you should have no
problems, but if you do, please email the list. I've found it very
useful, having several Receivers, and no Controllers :)
Upgrades are a non-issue: the Receiver updates itself automatically from
SN or SC, both of which store its firmware update images.

I believe this has been asked before; I don't think there was going to
be a charge, but best to let Pippin confirm that.
