Thanks for taking the time to test these changes.

I had to modify the patch at Michael Herger's request before they'd
consider it for inclusion in SC, its bug 11330 and includes the updated
patch. I'm still waiting on an update from him.
http://bugs.slimdevices.com/show_bug.cgi?id=11330 However these changes
had nothing to do with replay gain, only how the text display handling
changes were applied to SC. You can check the bug report for more
info.

I'm assuming you're starting SC using active perl and not
SqueezeCenter.exe as you're seeing the other changes. Correct?

Regarding not being able to stop SS using the squeezeplay type; The -e
option only changes the player type id sent to SC when SqueezeSlave
first connects. It does not change how SS communicates with SC in any
way. I implemented it for debugging the replay gain and bitrate
limiting issues then decided to leave the code in. Perhaps I should
update the help screen accordingly.

You're the second SS user who has not been able to get Replay Gain
working. It appears to work in my setup as I can hear volume changes
at the being of new tracks which do keep the volume level pretty
consistant. However, I'm still running 7.2.2 on XP with active perl to
test these changes at work which is the only place I still run SS. I've
been avoiding upgrading it since this version has been rock solid for
me. I'll spend some time and do that in the next week. When you get
some time I'd appreciate any additional information and observations
from your environment that could help to track down the differences.

Ralphy.
