I totally understand the time constraints, I've been really busy lately
as well. There's no hurry whatsoever. SS works quite well in it's
current state. I too like the headless player option. I took over
maintaining SS because I didn't want to be forced into using the
SqueezePlay gui, when a browser with the classic skin does such a great
job. It's great being able to fire up squeezeslave from a shared drive
on whatever system I'm using and listen to my music collection, without
all the baggage of Java or Jive.

The playing of the little bit of left over buffer has been a problem
for as long as I can remember. At least since version 0.6. Long
before I took over maintaining it. I've heard it for so long now that
I don't notice it any more. It really should at least be on my TODO
list for SS....Added.

I have noticed the sudden loudness change on beginning/end of tracks a
couple times while testing. I haven't been able to reproduce it
consistantly yet, to have a test case to track it down. Normally I
don't use replay gain at all, personally I don't like it. I have
mapped the volume and mute keys on my keyboard to a bash script to
change the volume on my SS player as needed. I've had smart gain
enabled for a while now at work, trying to track down this problem. No
luck so far. So any additional help would be greatly appreciated.
