Ian, Epoch: I've thrown my back out and I'm peering through a haze of pain at the moment. But, to answer your questions:
Yes, my original script was fully capable of hosing Ian's system. If he was logged in as root and ran the script from \root, the effect of running: chown -R squeezecenter:nogroup ..\..\. ..would have been to _change_ownership_of_every_file_on_the_system_to_the_squeezecenter_user_...with predictably deleterious results. But running that command from \var\lib\squeezecenter\Plugins\SrvrPowerCtrl\Scripts\Debian results in the correct behavior: a recursive chown of \var\lib\squeezecenter\Plugins\SrvrPowerCtrl and below. I just tested this on my system and it worked just fine. Using relative paths with chown really isn't a problem as long as you execute the command from the correct location. I still hope to post the next version of SrvrPowerCtrl later today. -- gharris999 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ gharris999's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=115 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=48521 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
