Thanks so much for investigating this issue so quickly. I don't have an intermittent internet connection, the modem is not connected at all. However, i do notice that the WAN settings from an old connection are still there - I don't know if this makes a difference but the config settings won't let me delete this information. I've timed the matter more accurately now and it is 22 seconds after I tap the iPeng icon that it returns to the main iPod menu. So actually, quite a lot greater than 10 secs - sorry if I misled you before.
