As long as the user is willing to put up with having automatic login disabled, this shouldn't be much of a problem. From my cursory googling, it looks like hooking the login and logoff events so that scripts get run at those times is pretty straight forward. The scripts could set and clear srvrpowerctrl blocks via the CLI. Thus: boot the machine and it comes up in "SqueezeCenter" mode...waiting for a user to login. Absent a login, SrvrPowerCtrl does it's thing. On login, SrvrPowerCtrl is blocked for the entire time the user is logged in. On logout, SrvrPowerCtrl is unblocked again.
