Well, could a "setupiscomplete" boolean pref be set by the install
script as the last part of the install process, when all went well ?
This way there would be no need to wire the execution of a test to the
GUI, simply to look for the value of the boolean.
Since the link instructs to run the install script, in case of plugin
reset ("setupiscomplete" reset to 0 as well) users would be asked to
re-run the setup script, which is harmless I think.
For full manual install, a pref setup via CLI for "setupiscomplete"
could do.
