apt-get install mplayer-nogui and this has been working fine for months. Mind you, so has AlienBBC :-) I haven't tried Alien since upgrading to SC 7.3. The log file *looks* okay to me, but I'm hoping you'll spot whatever it is I'm missing... My log file is attached. Many thanks.
