A wifi card shuts down, so it cannot receive any WOL packet. On the other hand, an ethernet card can be set to minimal mode and trigger the computer to start when a WOL packet is received. Your router will route the WOL packet to the server, you can use either wireless or ethernet for your SBs an client computers.
