Correct. In fact Whitebear refers the serving of two types of file directly to SBS, namely: 1) serving artwork images, and 2) serving MP3 streams (my philosophy is why have Whitebear do MP3 streaming when SBS itself does it just fine). However the consequence is that in both such cases, the client (player) must deliver the authentication credentials that you have set up SBS to require. Possible reasons could be: a) (less likely) perhaps the track does not exist anymore in your library (if so then do a rescan), or 2) (more likely) Whitebear cannot transcode it into 16 bit LPCM format. What is your original audio format of track 85651? What is its bit depth? What is its sample rate? Perhaps you can send me the file? (I did most of my testing so far on 44 kHz 16 bit ALAC encoded sources...) 2) The above error causes an exception in Whitebear, from which it unable to recover gracefully... -- AndrewFG Regards, AndrewFG Try out Whitebear.
