Hm, I can't reproduce this.
If you "leave" iPEng while you are on the MultiPlayer screen, can you
see the players go away after you come back?
Dis you switch players to a different music source in between?
Had you switched the music source before leaving iPeng?
Is the iPhone staying on while you are in Safari or has it been off for
a while?
You don't have to have a 2nd path to your server configured manually?
I'm sometimes having trouble because I have a remote access to my
server configured, too, so when I'm on my local network iPeng sees the
_same_ players on two different servers (I didn't find a way to
determine the servers are the same) which _sometimes_ confuses iPeng,
although it should not.

BTW, preserve Connection doesn't have any effect if you send iPeng to
the background.
