If I deselect the plugin and hit "apply" it will refresh. So to me it seems it doesn't register the option for it to be installed and thus does not attempt to install it... (or is that just way off?) When I installed WiMP it would refresh the web interface page when i hit "apply". Is there now way to "manually" install it by unpacking the files the way I tried, but making sure the plugin isn´t removed by the system?
