I never completed that changes after 3.9b1. It was supposed to be a stopgap until Squeezeplay was completed and then Softsqueeze was supposed to fade away.
Attached is a patch file for the changes made to the "audio" subdirectory. These are all the changes that mattered. Some were due to a small change in slimproto message behaviour which stopped non MP3 streams playing reliably. Most of the other changes relating to thread "synchronisation" (not to be mixed up with audio stream sync) were due to race problem when Softsqueeze was run on multicore-processors. There was still an issue with SBS audio sync.
