Yes, unles you are using the Touch with a USB drive that's what I'm saying. This is how the Squeezeboxes work. They always need to be connected to a server to work, without a server they can do exactly one thing which is to connect to a server. If the Squeezebox is still connected to the network, iPeng can do that, too, but if not: how could it? > > That I can wake up vortexbox using iPeng, but not Touch? > I'm not sure what you mean by "wake up". If you are talking about the "Power" state: that's just switching a screen saver and maybe turning off the analog outputs. iPeng can do that but all of this is a normal operation while the SB is connected to a server and it should really show up in iPeng then. I'm not aware of any way to really send a Touch to "sleep". > > I don't know. How can I verify that? > Well... if it doesn't show up in iPeng (or shows as "unconnected") and not on MySqueezebox.com it's probably using the connection. Try to go to "NowPlaying" on the Touch itself. If it first tries to connect to a server it has lost the connection. > > When I select it and also select vortexbox for the music source nothing > happens. > I'm currently skiing and not sure about how exactly it looks like in iPeng: Did you get a screen asking you what to connect to when you did tap it? Did that not work? If tapping the unconnected player does nothing, try selecting the "edit" mode with the button on the top right and then move it to the "vortexbox" Music Source through drag&drop. If that also doesn't work it probably means the Touch for some reason can't connect to the server itself, in that case I would assume it probably also can't do that from the Touch's user interface itself, too. > > Some more info: > Today when I came back home. That works fine for the Vortexbox (which can sleep) but the Touch actually can't really sleep. The Touch needs to be connected back to the Server, it usually should do that on it's own, for some reason yours doesn't. Do you use DHCP and does your server's IP change with every reboot? Maybe it helps to go to a fixed IP address? > > Then I select some music to the paylist and push "play". I just > couldn't hear anything. It means you successfully started to play something on the Touch and you just have no sound for some reason. It means your player actually _is_ connected to the server. Is there a working progress bar that goes beyond, say, 1 minute on the Touch itself? > > I changed music source to the vortexbox player, no sound. And then back > to Squeezebox Touch, and just then I hear the music. Vortexbox player is not a music source but a software player on your Vortexbox. I don't really understand what you mean by "And then back to Squeezebox Touc, and just then I hear the music.". What are you doing and what happens?
