Whitebear offers media in the following formats: LPCM/L16 (lossless), Native (in your case FLAC), MP3 (lossy), and it offers the lossless formats first on the list and the lossless formats later. I have seen some clients which can only support MP3, and if they don't find MP3 as the first offer in the list, they are so stupid that they don't check the remaining offers. I am guessing your Humax falls in this category.
