I don't know really... If you use e.g. PlugPlay to access the same
content with say Mediatomb or Twonky, you get slightly different
structure reported to PP. Twonky is more like SBS in that it gives you
a lot of different options like Artist, Genres, Years etc. AND they are
also representing two totally different "libraries" or databases of
course. Also there are "behind the scenes" differences as well, like
transcoding or not, plugins or not etc.
However, when I instead access my music via Whitebear, it is the exact
same structure as I get on my SBC. The reason is simply because
Whitebear is acting as a front end to SBS and USES SBS Library, not
creating it's own. Hence I would assume 7.6 would be exactly like that,
adding DLNA on top of the already working SBS structure, and Library..

So yes if you were to access the same music content via another server,
it would be a different library, and different functionality. However
from a UI perspective (the general principles) I don't see much of a
difference between iPeng and PP for example. Yes the "content" of each
area in the screen may differ from server to server, but the principles
and thus structure of the UI would still remain. And yes I do consider
iPeng to be much better than others in that it provides a complete,
well working and very nice interface!

Besides looking into 7.6, which I have no clue when it will be ready
for release, I would also look at what works already now, i.e.
Whitebear. All you need to do is to install it on our SBS machine and
off you go (unless it's a NAS in which case I don't know how to run it,
but I got it to run under Wine on Ubuntu). There you would be able to
test already today towards your more stable releases like 7.5.3 etc

Perhaps you two could team up even...

I figured as much... :)

Well, well, what do you know... It's me needing to be more precise when
pointing. I tried a few times you know but either nothing happened or I
opened up the server drop down...
A wish from my side then, in a future release perhaps the progress bar
could be a tad thicker to make "targeting" easier. ;)
At least on the iPad there is definitely the space for it...
