The case is solved. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
triode.

Turns out the problem was that the security settings for the squeezebox
server, under the advanced tab, was set to only accept IPs from this
range: 192.168.1.10-29. I assumed this would be enough, since all
servers and devices reside within that range. But obviously I was wrong
and that explains why 127.0.0.1 was disconnected as an unauthorized
source. By adding 127.0.0.1 to the IP range, the plugin once again
works flawlessly.

The only thing that still confuses me is that previous versions of the
plugin worked, even without the squeezebox server accepting calls from
the local host (127.0.0.1). Maybe something has changed in more recent
versions of the plugin?

Anyways, its working again now, so its all good. Thanks for the help.
