If you uninstall the plugin it should then all be removed. I would check that you don't see anything as installed or in any of the plugin folder paths related to spotify when it is uninstalled. You should also clear all playlists of players to make sure these don't contain spotify tracks which are causing the repeat messages about getting track info. You should definately be seeing new entries in the helper app log. This is why I think you have more than one version running.
