I'm on a Vortexbox SBS which seems to have few of these issues and isn't a high horsepower CPU (2.6GHz single core Pentium, 512KB RAM).
I've just tested the iPlayer live feeds, listen again feeds and iPlayer extras feeds and they're all working ok it seems... All the national live stations report 128kbps aac streams, with live text and just a generic "1, 2, 3 ,4 etc" as a picture. 5 live doesn't report the stream, R3HD reports 320kbps aac as expected. Listen again doesn't report the stream info but live text works; it displays the DJ or program image. The iPlayer Extras route does much the same as listen again. I'd love to know what they're going to do with that "Special Events" thing that they put 3 Electric proms concerts on in 320kbpsHD and never put anything else in it! There's gotta be some more stuff that's worth putting in there in all its glory. Going into "My apps" BBC radio stations will get you sound but no image, no live text and no stream information so it's a good job we have a nice few members writing iPlayer apps for us!
