Sorry, but I'm not sure what else to say. You say PUID tags, but I don't
think those matter. What you want are the fingerprint and especially the
analysis tags. They are called MUSICMAGIC FINGERPRINT and MUSICMAGIC
DATA for MP3 files and so I assume for m4a as well. In FLAC they are
called just FINGERPRINT and ANALYSIS. I assume you have those? Do they
have the right names?

Otherwise.... If you have conventional MP3s on your NAS, you can get
them in the MiP database and mix them with no trouble? And the same
procedure fails with your analyzed ALAC files? There is a variety of
poorly understood (by me anyway) options for adding files to the
database in the MiP GUI. There are Refresh Songs on the Library menu
and adding a Watch Folder on the Options dialog box. There may be no
effective difference between these, but I'd try them both. That's all I
can think of for now.
