Hi, yes I have the iPad3 and preserve connection settings are off. The only time I really have the feeling my iPad gets hot, is when I play around with iPeng, scrolling through albums etc. (not a gamer) Never had the feeling it got this warm using anything else, will keep observing. Hardly ever use the playback, battery seems to go quicker just by using iPeng. I had the feeling there was something wrong with my battery, but I was on holiday without using iPeng and everything was normal again. Came back used iPeng and the battery ran low again. Might have used it for 2 hours. So no idea what actually makes this happen.
