OK. Aborting by pressing the red X now works.
muso was using under 800 kB RAM. muso seemed not to respect the show desktop command (from the Windows task bar). After muso was sent to the background it was not possible to show the muso Windows again through alt+tab or the Windows task bar. Therefore I could not check the status of muso. Eventually muso crashed.
