My mistake, somehow I thought you were doing something different from stuart ( http://blog.stuart.shelton.me/archives/762 ) but in fact it is very similar and Stuart does not seem to have the delay issue. what is different in your setup compared to Stuart's ?

Strange - what version/distro of Linux are you using ? As a test - can you replace in conf file ecasound to take input from a file and see what delay between pressing play and hearing audio - that will give you the LMS processing and network delay.
