I remember my first squeezebox was a receiver (without the controller) and boy did I have fun hacking into the software to configure it. I didn't realise at the time I needed the controller for easy setup. Wholly satisfied though as it gave me some knowledge in programming so to speak and from what I hear iPeng beats the controller!
