Having seen the release of 'Shairplay' (https://github.com/juhovh/shairplay) a while ago, I recently came across the following 'blog post' (http://confoundedtech.blogspot.ca/2012/08/airplay-to-squeezebox-touch-via-linux.html) that details very specific instructions on how to enable Shairplay on LMS to allow "Airplay" streaming through your LMS.
I have attempted to do likewise, but am unable to get any sound streaming through my LMS. The key difference that I can see is that I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 on a headless & soundcard-less server--I don't think this should make a huge difference. One of my questions is: on creating the WaveInput favourite and attempting to "Play" it, nothing happens. i.e. Play button doesn't turn to Pause, timer doesn't increment... What should be the effect? I've done some testing as per the advise at this 'thread' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?49584-Announce-WaveInput-for-Linux&p=717722#post717722).
