OK I think the reason for the 404 when using numeric IP address is because Radiotime also uses some http headers which are not set when using a numeric ip address. I think radiotime uses ther http headers to handle some geo locking issues.
I think it maight be better to start with LMS logging to see if the soruce of the error can be better understood.
