You're right! I changed that in the Muso database and now it is as
expected. I assume if I change the underlying tags and re-sync then that
should work too. However, I don't understand the logic of it at all. I
notice that using the composer in artist tags also creates problems
(duplications). This is a shame as it is a very common feature of many
classical music databases as a work-round for (inferior) software. Are
there other obscure (to me at least) semantic rules of which I should be
aware? I haven't worked through all the implications of this yet
(bedtime in UK), but it seems that to get the composer to take priority
I can't list the performing artist for the album as "album artist" -
rather they have to be listed as artist on each track. Also, this could
create some awkward restrictions and problems with other (player)
software. However, I think that the SB touch is OK as it lists composer
as well as artist on the "now playing" screen. I am attempting to re-tag
all my albums and would prefer not to do the job over again!
