OK, thanks for that, but I'm not sure why Muso replaces Composer by Album Artist in these circumstances. Re the Groupheaders, my scheme is as follows. Every (classical music) track has an Opus tag (which has the full title of the work, plus the opus number). Tracks are generally named like this: "Opus: Movement". In the custom tag options (I use LMS), Opus is mapped to Groupheader. This achieves the CD insert appearance in the browser, and makes the SB touch display the Opus in the title - this is necessary because I am making my album tags match the actual albums, not the works (which I have found can get very messy). Ideally what I would like is to customise the SB touch display, but this seems infeasible. I should add that I am also making Movement tags (using mp3tag actions to extract from Title) This gives me flexibility to reconstruct Title tags in a different format if the need arises. For similar reasons, I have CDName tags which hold the original album name. That way I can name Album to be Opus or CDName using an mp3tag action. Hopefully this will future-proof the tagging. Perhaps I should consider a similar approach to Album Artist since, given the rule you have referred to, it will be required in some cases if Album=CDName but not if Album=Opus, however I can't see how to do this in mp3tag since it requires the context of other tracks in the same album to determine the result, whereas mp3tag operates on a track by track basis. I should probably also split Opus into Work + Opus Number: this would have the benefit of not having to use exactly the same words in the Opus tag if I want Muso to group two versions of a work in the hierarchy. Overall then, the approach I am leaning towards is to have custom tags holding each significant metadata element and then automatically (in mp3tag) constructing the standard tags in the way that optimises use by the software I have at any time. Software may change over time, but I don't want to re-tag again! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ MDE's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49291 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
