For classical albums Composer takes precedence over Artist, but Album Artist is the override for all (as it is for all albums). Performer is where to put the performer, eg. "Alfred Brendel" (the pianist). So if you had a classical album all with Composer=Beethoven and Performer=Alfred Brendel, it will make Beethoven the titled artist by default, UNLESS you specify Alfred Brendel also as the Album Artist - this is telling muso who the titled artist of the album should be, overriding any intelligent logic. The Artist column for classical albums shouldn't really be used at all in my opinion, since there are all the necessary attributes for specifying the artistic roles: Composer, Conductor, Ensemble, Performer. Artist is treated as just another secondary artistic (supporting) role if it is filled in though. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ jezbo's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9888 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=91575 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
