I am still having problems - after playing around with various options
(not just with local player, but also trying to get Audacity to get a
line-in input)
I broke too many things, so decided a reinstall was the best approach.
Now, I have a different issue in that I can't get localplayer to start
squeezlite - it seems it is a permissions problem,
(Is this going back to the squeezeboxserver user as a potential source
of issue?-
note: I have added squeezebox server to the audio group)

ANY IDEAS AS TO HOW I RESOLVE THIS?

Also note your previous comment re allowing multiple users to access the
same audio device, how do I check / fix this, as I suspect this problem
will recurr when I have fixed starting squeezlite.
