The BBC's Audio Factory initiative is somewhat unintelligible to a non-specialist such as myself! I'm left thinking that HDS and HLS are evolutions of HTTP by Adobe and Apple respectively, that the BBC will stream to desktops with HDS and to mobiles with HLS, and will use use AAC-LC at 320kb/s and 128kb/s for HDS, and HE-AAC(v1) at 96kb/s and 48kb/s for HLS. So long as LMS can handle whichever permutation the BBC throws at it I'll be happy, but with a preference for HDS with AAC-LC at 320kb/s.
