LMS (7.9) has a habit of rescanning items if it sees they have changed. This causes it to sulk for a while before it's ready to use again. I thought there used to be a way of stopping it from rescanning, but I can't find it now.
The problem this causes is, on my system, much worse. I have configured Custom Scan to kick in and rescan after LMS has done a rescan. If I don't have this option set I forget to do a custom scan when I really have added new stuff. Custom Scan takes hours to rescan which is not what I want to happen when just playing music since the system is unusable. Further, I have sometimes switched off my system not fully realising it was still doing a Custom Scan. The system then wakes up and does a full scan in the middle of the night, which is fine. However, what happens then is that Multi-Library seems to have reset the value for the Standard Library (from 1 to 6 or 7) which means my non-Classical stuff cannot be found. I have to go into the database and change the value back to 1, and then all is well. So, is there any way to stop LMS from starting a rescan which then kicks off a Custom Scan when a small change has been made, whilst still allowing for a full automatic rescan when I want it to do so? And is there a issue somewhere in multi-library causing it to reset the library values? LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps.
