I have a Fire TV and an HDMI AV receiver but one is upstairs the other downstairs. I will see if I can try it in next couple of days. Not sure about autostart but can confirm that switching TV off does NOT cause SB Player to shut down. I know this because I have discovered an issue as a bi product of that. I did a full rescan today and iPeng (which I use as a controller) would not resync. I hadn't turned any of my players off which is normal. Ipeng would only resync after I powered the Fire TV off - other players were still on. It was like SB Player was constantly polling the server and blocking ipeng. Just FYI.
