You have a very old version of LMS 7.9 which is a beta and not "stable". If you use 7.9 you should check for updates regularly. There were changes made to the Slim/Player/Transcoding.pm file of LMS specifically in the area of your "bug". Some of the updates were themselves updated on 8-Aug-2014 probably after the nightly you used.
