The BBC IPlayer plugin is a third party supplied plugin.   I wasn't
referring to any wider point about LMS that you are referring to.  (Nor
am I entirely sure why you are correlating the two)
So, to bring it back to the IPlayer plugin,  its a bit of a sensitive
situation as it hasn't been officially declared unsupported by its
owner.   So, I would suggest the current manually amending route is
probably the only way to go for a few more weeks until so one steps into
the breach and creates a brand new forked version
