I've switched almost entirely to using iPlayerExtras for Listen Again (thanks for your work bpa), for two reasons. First, it plays Radio 3 at 320kbps AAC which sounds so much better than the 128kbps max from HLS. Second, iPlayerExtras appears to have between 3 and 4 weeks catchup window depending on which programme I'm looking at whereas iPlayer is just a bit over 7 days. I assume the BBC did not extend the official XML feed that Triode uses when the catchup window was extended, but it's a bit poor of them not to.
I appreciate that Triode is working under constraints of official XML feeds and agreements with the BBC and he has to do that to stay on the BBC's good side (such as it may be). And it is entirely the BBC's decision to remove 320kbps AAC Listen Again for HLS. It is part of the flexibility of LMS that there is room for iPlayerExtras which can plug these gaps. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Owen Smith's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42371 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=53229 _______________________________________________ plugins mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
