The BBC are using a new and relatively unusual broadcast protocol which may be the cause of the problems you have, which is why I've suggest the network and DNS checks.
Owen is suggesting that the iplayer plugin thread at http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?53229-Announce-BBCiPlayer-Plugin-%28UK-only%29/page385 is the main place to discuss issues with the plugin (even it not in the UK). This 'sticky' thread is aimed at just giving reliable start-up information to people. If it gets too long it becomes impossible for people to read, so I try to keep it up to date near the front to give the latest info to people. LMS 7.9 on VortexBox Midi, Xubuntu 14.04, FLACs 16->24 bit, 44.1->192kbps. LMS & Squeeze2upnp to MF M1 CLiC (to MF amp & ESLs) & Marantz CR603 UPnP renderers. Minimserver (server) & upplay (control point) to same renderers & to upmpdcli/mpd PC renderers. Squeezelite to Meridian USB Explorer DAC to speakers/phones. Wireless Xubuntu 14.04 laptop with firefox/upplay or Android 'phone with Squeeze-Commander/BubbleUPnP controls LMS/Minimserver.
