I have a problem with streams suddenly stopping dead too using Triode's alpha plugin, it can be after just 5 seconds or 2 minutes or 30 minutes, it happens a lot for On Demand, and sometimes on Listen Live too.
This is LMS 7.9 on OS X, happens with Squeezebox Touch, Squeezeplay OS X, and iPeng Playback (on iPhone).
