Looking at the the flkow of data through the 1.3 plugin - it is very
"lumpy" (i.e. burst of data then 2-3 secs nothing). Also the plugin does
not prefetch as much data with a live stream as an on demand so if
problem is due to "lumpiness" it is more lie;y to affect live streams
comapred to on demand ones. Using ffmpeg lets ffmpeg buffer data and so
give a smoother flow.

At the moment I feel problem could be a safety timer in socketwrapper
(put in especially for mplayer and AlienBBC) that is being triggered
but I need to do testing (and if necessary build a new version of
socketwrapper) to check this out.
