Instead of having to long press the '+' button to open the menu to add the song to a saved playlist, you can just tap the '+' button to add the song to the current playlist. Since you had previously put the saved playlist you wanted to add to into the current playlist, adding to the current playlist essentially means adding to the saved playlist. Once you've added all the songs you wanted, just save the current playlist with the same name and you will overwrite the old version.
