Yes, it did work before. Other recipes work fine.
I must admit I'm puzzled. Are you using any kind of genre filtering? Or sub-libraries (in case you're using 7.9)?
Please enable debug logging for plugin.smartmix, then check the last option in the SmartMix settings to reset your SmartMix library. This will trigger a full wipe & rescan. Once done, please send me the full scanner.log.
