Could you please update LMS to a more recent build?
And again: does this happen even if you don't use the "browse music
folder" functionality at all (in iPeng).
Have you also tried to delete the artwork cache (artwork.db and
cache.db)?

What is probably happening is that your server hangs temporarily while
browsing. This could be e.g. Because the scanner gets launched during
music folder browsing and hangs at a file or database update. It could
also be caused by lack of access to some artwork files or a corrupt
artwork.db. There have been some updates to this in LMS this year.
