I've been running LMS for years on Windows and have lately been trying it out on a Raspbery Pi2. This plugin and the UPnPbridge plugin have revolutionalised my system, with a couple of Squeezebox 2s, a Duet and a Touch now gathering dust. Using the original Chromecast in one receiver with an HDMI out to another means perfect synchronisation in the three rooms that they serve. I'm very grateful for the work that has been put into these plugins.
However, I find that I can't run either plugin on a Windows systems without a marked increase in CPU usage, depending on the machine. On my HP ProLiant N54L Windows 10 server usage goes up to 99%. On my two i7 machines, it goes up 60-70%. It's a problem on both Windows 7 and Windows 10 systems. On the Raspberry Pi, it doesn't miss a beat. I've been running LMS 7.9 nightly builds. I've downloaded the zip files from Github and run them standalone and I still have the same problem.
