I haven't used Suse for a long time either but allowing broadcast is
what I had to do upon installation.  Firewall has changed since I last
used it ( I used to use an iptables command) 

However reading through current setup - the suggestion in blue is to
allow broadcast to External (_EXT) networks (i.e. not on local LAN)
whereas the issue Jerome has is to allow broadcast from Internal network
players is not working so that is why I suggest checking
FW_ALLOW_FW_BROADCAST_INT
