I'm not sure, but surely the plugin author will know best :) What you could do if you want to further on the topic is to set logging debug logging to "all items below", then retrieve the file and post it (or copy-paste a relevant part, since you can "view" the file in your browser)
In my experience, discovery speed varies a bit between devices, and then there is always a delay before a software player gets added to the LMS interface. I would say that if you reload the LMS homepage after 15 minutes and still don't see your player, something is wrong. Can you explain what the Freebox Server thing is? (I wonder if it is not the multimedia box that comes with a broadband router; and in this case I suppose the device is not an official airplay device, but rather carries some version of the shairplay program. I have one such device running shairplay. I can get it to output audio only if I set "use encryption" for that device.
