There is another update for the ds212j available, but that probably will not solve your problem. I don't use the upnp plugin but since your nas and mine (ds115) are almost the same, I'm not sure if this is a server issue. Also I can't reproduce the issue. Selecting a folder and adding it to the playlist works fine. All songs play one after the other.
If I remember correctly there is a setting in the Upnp plugin to disable teh gapless playback (eventhough your Marantz supports it afaik) . Please do so and see if this solves your problem.
